Wellness Program

PT Vale Indonesia Tbk is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of its employees as the core of the company's ethos. Recognizing the pivotal role of health in improving the quality of life, PTVI believes that maintaining optimal health not only positively impacts the overall quality of life for employees but also enhances efficiency and effectiveness in their professional roles. With this conviction, the company promotes a mindset among its workforce that views health as a strategic necessity, not merely a personal benefit but as the foundation for the success of individuals and the entire group. The urgency of this commitment becomes increasingly apparent through the implementation of Medical Check-Ups (MCU) and a review of employees' health histories, revealing that a significant number of workers have backgrounds of obesity, high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease, necessitating the establishment of a program that can transform employees' lifestyles to be healthier.
To ensure the health of its employees, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk has implemented a comprehensive Wellness Program. This initiative encompasses four key components: dietary habits, exercise routines, sufficient rest, and stress management strategies. The program was launched on July 11, 2023, beginning with weight measurements. Subsequently, employees are assessed and categorized based on their Body Mass Index (BMI), with a particular emphasis on those with a higher BMI. This specific group receives personalized guidance to improve their health. Additionally, there is a voluntary group comprising both PT Vale Indonesia employees and contractors who independently participate in these activities.
All participants receive information on healthy food choices and habits from nutrition experts. Throughout the program, participants are required to submit visual documentation related to their food choices and exercise activities. Over the course of 90 days, the Health Team or Fitness Coach closely monitors the participants, culminating in a final body weight measurement at the end of the program.
This program actively involves 623 individuals, including both employees of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk and contractors. The participation of contractors in the program is noteworthy, with a total of 243 individuals, constituting 39% of the overall participants. The program's positive impact is evident in the improved health and energy levels of active participants. This is supported by the results of a satisfaction survey, where 98% of the 45 respondents reported experiencing enhanced health and increased energy during their participation in the program.
