    What is the Viva Engage corporate social network?

    Viva Engage is a space for the people who make our company. As part of the Cultural Transformation we are building, we want Viva Engage to be a space dedicated to conversation and sharing ideas. 

    It is a tool to give you a voice, in a broad and democratic way, to bring you closer to people from all over the world, employees and service providers, and to open a channel of listening with the leadership.

    How to log in?

    If you have your @vale.com e-mail logged in your browser, your login will be automatic. Otherwise, just enter your e-mail address @vale.com and your password to access.

    How to interact?

    There are several ways to interact, see how you can engage with the contents of our corporate social network.

    Mentions

    Tag your colleagues in posts or comments and invite them to the conversation. Type @ and the name to be tagged, find the person you want to mention, and click their name. That way they will be notified of the mention and will find the content easily.

    Emojis

    Talk through emojis too!! In Windows 10, press the Windows logo + period (.) key  . On a Mac, use Ctrl + Cmd + space key. The feature works for posts and comments. 

    Comments

    Feedback is how we put open and transparent dialogue into action in Viva Engage. Respond to content and other comments, say what you think about the topic under discussion, ask questions, share your knowledge and ideas.

    Likes

    Reactions are a way to like content or a comment expressing some emotion. They are also a great way to assess how your colleagues feel about the topic under discussion.

    Communities are large groups that bring people together for common interests. Understand how they work, learn how to participate and see how you can create one yourself!

    Live streams on Viva Engage

    Our live streams happen on Viva Engage! Learn how to follow events and see how to participate in discussions- before, during or even after the broadcast.

    On Viva Engage, go to the community where the broadcast is happening, click the Eventos [Events] tab and select what you want to watch. You will be directed to the event page.  

    Time to contribute! Each event hosted on Viva Engage has its own page, with a unique feed for broadcast-related topics. Access before the event to leave your questions, during the broadcast to chat in real time, or after the event to make your comments.

    Only community administrators can live stream. If you are invited to attend an event as a speaker, you will be sent a calendar invitation with all the information.

    What can I talk about?

    Viva Engage is our own space, dedicated to conversations and sharing ideas. Understand how to use this tool in the best way!

    Post photos. Show what's happening at our company! It could be a training, meeting or project – just be careful with confidential information.  

    Share information. Recommend articles, texts, videos – any content related to our topics of interest. Add value to discussions and stimulate reflection.  

    Share your #PrideOfBeingVale. Compliment your colleagues and show your pride of being part of our company.  

    Show that we are #TogetherToTransform. Talk about our Cultural Transformation, your learnings and what you are doing to fulfill our Purpose.  
    Be careful with personal data and confidential information. Take extra care not to disclose your personal information. When talking about our company and our projects, make sure you are not sharing sensitive information or strategic data.  

    Do not expose people or situations. Assess whether the content you want to post is not harmful to the reputation of your colleagues, company, customers or suppliers. Use appropriate channels to address internal issues.  

    Respect. Your opinion is important, but it should not be expressed through insults, foul language or incitement to violence. We are intolerant of any kind of discrimination.  

    You are what you post. Use common sense and assess whether or not your content may damage your professional image.  

    Avoid Fake News. Please, make sure that all information is correct before posting it. Give preference to reliable sources, always read the entire article, check the publication date and the author of the report. If you still have questions, look for news checking sites.  
    The rule is clear: if it's a social network, it has to have a meme. On Viva Engage our communication is relaxed, so the use of memes is free. The feature is a great option to get the message across in a fun way. Choose the meme you want to use well, make sure it's easy to understand, and make sure the meme's origin isn't offensive. 

    Set Viva Engage notifications

    Turn on notifications and stay on top of everything that happens on the network.

    Select the Configurações [Settings] button in the Viva Engage header, click Editar Configurações [Edit Settings] and choose the Notificação [Notification] tab. Now just set how you want to be notified of updates from our social network.
