Since May 2021 he is an Independent Member of Vale’s Board of Directors, Chair of the Audit and Risks Committee, and Member of the Nomination and Governance Committee. Previously at Vale, he was the Chair of the Audit Committee, Member of the Nomination Committee, and Member of the People, Remuneration and Governance Committee.

After Alcoa, he managed two aerospace and industrial metals companies for Precision Castparts, a Berkshire Hathaway Company. Most recently, he was CEO of Sofina Foods, one of Canada’s leading food manufacturers.
Mr. Wilt is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point. He served as a combat engineer officer in the US Army’s 101st Airborne Division and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. Mr. Wilt has a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Prior to The Capital Group he served as an analyst at JP Morgan Asset Management (1999-2004), also focused on the metals and mining industry. And prior to that he spent two years with HSBC Investment Bank as Head of Commodities Research.
Before joining the finance industry he worked with Western Mining Corporation (1989-1997) in various financial, commercial, planning and business development functions. He also spent four years (1991-1995) working as a geophysicist with Hosking Geophysical.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics, and an MBA, both from the University of Western Australia.
