Environmental
Areas for the conservation of native environmental wealth
The Vale Vitória Botanical Park, the Parque Costeiro, and the Vale Natural Reserve, located in the in the state of Espírito Santo, are places dedicated to environmental education and preservation. The experience of contact with nature offered to visitors is enriching.

Tubarão Environmental Master Plan
Learning from our history, in dialogue with the present and seeking to evolve towards a better future for all. It was in this context that Vale carried out the largest environmental investment in its history in Espírito Santo, the Tubarão Environmental Master Plan (PDA). This is a challenging job that reinforces our commitment to the sustainability of our operations and to the community of Espírito Santo.
The PDA includes actions to control atmospheric emissions, described in the Environmental Commitment Term, and around 160 projects, including the implementation of new equipment, improvements in environmental controls and studies on new technologies.

Cuidar da água é prioridade na Vale
Gestão hídrica responsável
Na Unidade Tubarão, reduzimos em 49% o consumo médio anual de água nova para fins industriais e, em 2024, atingimos 72,4% de reuso. Como parte do Plano Diretor Ambiental, estamos investindo na ampliação da capacidade de armazenamento de água de reuso e a partir de 2026, novos reservatórios dobrarão nossa capacidade de armazenamento, chegando a 180 mil m³.
Compromisso com a sociedade e o meio ambiente
Também atuamos na proteção de áreas florestais essenciais para manutenção de nascentes, recursos hídricos e da biodiversidade.
A Reserva Natural Vale em Linhares apoia cinco unidades de conservação no Espírito Santo, cerca de 45 mil hectares de floresta. Uma dessas unidades é a Reserva Biológica Duas Bocas, em Cariacica, onde está localizada a represa Duas Bocas que contribui com o abastecimento de água da região metropolitana da grande Vitória.
Com essas ações, reforçamos o compromisso da Vale em conservar a água e o meio ambiente, contribuindo para um futuro mais sustentável para todos.

Parcerias e inovação
Em março, assinamos um memorando de entendimento (MOU) com o consórcio Águas de Reuso Vitória para avaliação do fornecimento de água proveniente do tratamento de esgoto sanitário da Grande Vitória (água reciclada ou de reuso) para uso industrial.A parceria prevê a construção de uma Estação de Produção de Água de Reuso (Epar) com expectativa de fornecer pelo menos 50 litros de água por segundo para Vale. Com isso, a água potável fornecida pela Cesan passará a ser exclusivamente de uso humano.
As ações são continuidade do protocolo de intenções assinado entre a Vale e a Cesan em 2024.

10 years of Vale in Schools
The aim of the initiative is to bring together and strengthen the relationship between Vale and the school community through dialog, active listening and proactive interaction.
We reinforced our commitment, transparency and partnership through technology workshops in Greater Vitória, educational robotics workshops, a partnership with the Learning Operations area and technical visits to the Tubarão Unit.
Program numbers
- More than 88,000 participants, including students and teachers, involved;
- 65 priority communities reached;
- More than 200 public and private educational institutions in Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais benefited.

With Vale + Comunidade, we've created a space to bring together all the ways you can get in touch with us. Whether it's to discuss local issues, suggest improvements, or resolve doubts, we have a series of dedicated channels to serve you with attention and respect.
In addition, we will soon be launching “Talk to Vale”, an initiative that brings our listening channels to you, through door-to-door visits in local communities. Our promoters, identified with campaign materials, will be ready to answer your questions, always with respect, empathy and information.

Frist half of 2023
The people of Espírito Santo are set to gain a new leisure space, bringing together nature and knowledge. The new Coastal Park is the highlight of this edition. The 17,000-square-meter venue will have a main building, an open-air theater, ecological trails, a sensory environment and a viewpoint.
The new park, which will offer visitors activities and experiences encompassing education, environmental restoration and research into coastal environments, will be built and managed by us.
