Our commitment to full reparation
We recognize that human losses are irreparable. However, we are working tirelessly to fulfill the mission of repairing and compensating for the damage to individuals and territories caused by the ruptures, through direct actions in the case of Brumadinho (MG) and through the support of the Renova Foundation, an entity created in agreement with the government in collaboration with Samarco and BHP Billiton in Mariana (MG).
The commitment to non-repetition has led to a cultural transformation at Vale, including a profound review of all our macro processes, such as Governance, Risk management and Dams management. We are challenging ourselves to make Vale a reference in safety and to become a reliable operator.
We continue to rigorously fulfill all our commitments and strive to implement actions in an efficient and timely manner, recognizing the expectations of affected communities and society at large for agility in reparation processes. We are continuously working to overcome challenges and expedite all actions.
