Have you ever thought about collaborating to solve industry problems and even being rewarded for it? At Vale, this is possible!

​If you are interested in the topics Mineral Resources, Mineral Reserves, Geotechnics, Drilling and Blasting and Geophysics, the Develop Program is for you.

We are looking for students – in undergraduate, master's, doctorate or specialization levels – who accept to take on the challenge of proposing disruptive solutions to problems in different company processes.
​Therefore, the Desenvolver Program was created as a strategy to attract new talent and promote certain topics in academia. The program consists of a competition in which students, individually or in groups of up to three people, are challenged to develop a solution to a Vale challenge.

2025 Edition

This year, the Program will cover 5 themes:
 
  • Mineral Resource: QAQC flow, database validation, geological and geostatistical modeling, and uncertainty quantification of an iron ore.
  • Reserve: definition of maximum pit considering the uncertainties of the benefit function parameters.
  • Geophysics: database validation flow (QAQC), processing, interpretation, geophysical modeling of an iron ore deposit using multi-method inversion (individual and joint) and uncertainty quantification.
  • Drilling and Blasting: creation of a model for predicting vibration induced by blasting.
  • Mine Geotechnics: development of a mining plan and methodology to ensure the protection of nearby cavities during mining operations.    
​Registration for the Develop 2025 Program can be done individually or in groups of up to three people, as long as they are all duly enrolled at a university.
You have until 04/21/2025 to participate. Read the notice carefully and sign up!
The best projects will receive prizes equivalent to more than R$100,000, including cash prizes, an invitation to participate in a technical visit and a closing event to present the work developed.

Our event 

The best solutions for the challenge of evaluating mineral resources, proposed by Vale's Desenvolver Program, were announced at an event held by the company in Nova Lima (MG).  


At the meeting, which took place on September 12, undergraduate and postgraduate students from areas related to mining shared their projects with other students, technicians and leaders from Vale, and representatives from invited companies. The winners also had the opportunity to visit the mining company's facilities, such as the Ferrous Technology Center.

Mas afinal, o que é o Programa Desenvolver?

O principal objetivo do Programa Desenvolver é engajar estudantes e universidades por meio de temas e processos chaves da mineração, aproximando esses talentos de áreas com grande demanda profissional.

Inscrições

As inscrições para o projeto Desenvolver podem ser feitas de forma individual ou em grupos de até três pessoas, desde que todas estejam devidamente matriculadas em uma universidade.

Você tem até o dia 15/06 para participar. Leia atentamente o edital e inscreva-se!

Premiação

Os três primeiros colocados (sejam em inscrições individuais ou em grupo) ganham um curso de capacitação técnica, a oportunidade de participarem de visita técnica e de um evento de fechamento para apresentação do trabalho desenvolvido. Além disso, o programa fornece os seguintes prêmios:

Primeiro colocado: Prêmio de R$7.000 convertidos em itens como celulares, relógios, tablets e outros;
Segunda colocado: Prêmio de R$5.000 convertidos em itens como celulares, relógios, tablets e outros;
Terceiro colocado: Prêmio de R$3.000 convertidos em itens como celulares, relógios, tablets e outros.
