Thompson

Thompson, Manitoba, known as “the Hub of the North,” is located 740 kilometers north of Winnipeg and is named after John F. Thompson, chairman of International Nickel when a significant body of ore was discovered there in 1956.
Our Manitoba Operations, with two operating mines, is located in the awe-inspiring heart of the northern boreal region. It has a strong future in mining and milling, with an ongoing mission to grow as a safe, prosperous and sustainable nickel producer. The operations employ about 900 people and cover some 250 acres.
