Teluk Rubiah Scholarship Programme (“TRSP”)
The Teluk Rubiah Scholarship Programme (“TRSP”) is an elite educational support program, modelled after some of Malaysia’s most prestigious scholarship programs. The program is designed to provide opportunities for the most exceptional students in Manjung to pursue a world-class tertiary education that prepares them for a global career.
Under TRSP, Vale in Malaysia plans to send up to 10 students over multiple intakes between 2023-2025 to a Top 200 internationally recognized university.
Teluk Rubiah Scholarship Programme (“TRSP”)
The Teluk Rubiah Scholarship Programme (“TRSP”) is an elite educational support program, modelled after some of Malaysia’s most prestigious scholarship programs. The program is designed to provide opportunities for the most exceptional students in Manjung to pursue a world-class tertiary education that prepares them for a global career.
Under TRSP, Vale in Malaysia plans to send up to 10 students over multiple intakes between 2023-2025 to a Top 200 internationally recognized university.

Applications are open from now until 26 June 2023.

Eligibility Criteria’s
- A citizen of Malaysia and a Manjung local:
(i) Born in Manjung, or
(ii) Has spent at least 10 years of life in the district.
(ii) Has spent at least 10 years of life in the district.
- Parental / Guardian combine income not exceeding MYR 15,000/month (gross, as at May 2023)
- Applicants who conducted the SPM examination in 2022, in a school in Manjung.
- Aspires to pursue a career in the Engineering/ STEM or Business / Commerce line.
- Achieved exceptional SPM results with an excellent academic track record*:
(i) The academic requirements for the technical (Engineering) scholarship are:
- At least straight A’s with A+ Mathematics and A+ / A in Physics, Additional Mathematics and Chemistry and English
(ii) The academic requirements for the Commerce scholarship are:
- At least straight As; A + / A in Mathematics and English
- Track record of active participation in co-curricular/social activities.
- Applicant must not be a recipient of any other scholarship that comes with contractual obligations such as a service bond.
Selection Criteria
TRSP is positioned as an elite scholarship program, and its selection process is designed to be stringent, to ensure that only exceptional candidates will be successful. The process comprises three selection stages:
STAGE 1
Academic and background selection process, based on the minimum requirements published by Vale on its external communications platforms.
STAGE 2
A solo interview session; conducted virtually by at least two members of the selection committee.
STAGE 3
An advanced interview session; conducted physically comprising a case study presentation and a group interview session.
Successful candidates will begin their Foundation Programme by the end of January 2024; ultimately, the final commencement date will be decided by Vale Malaysia upon completion of the interview process.
