University Students from Four Countries visit TRMT to Learn Sustainable Practices
MANJUNG, August 23 – Vale in Malaysia had the privilege of hosting a delegation of students from UniKL, UTP, UMT, UTM and their International University partners (students from 3 foreign universities: Estonia, Germany and Vietnam) on a technical site visit of the Teluk Rubiah Maritime Terminal (TRMT).
Participants for the session included 44 students and 10 lecturers who are part of Coastal and Marine Sustainability Enacted (COME!) program. The main objective of the program is for students to understand the roles, efforts and challenges faced by multinational companies in creating a sustainable environment for the community and future generations.
At the end of the event, participant Long from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) said, “Thank you Vale for this remarkably interesting, valuable, and informative learning session. I genuinely enjoyed this experience and the warm Malaysian hospitality!”
This was a terrific opportunity to introduce Vale to a new audience, educate the students on how sustainable mining is essential to global development and share Vale’s environmental and sustainability practice both globally and at TRMT.
We look forward to potential collaborations with the COME! team and future engagements with universities that can help us at Vale in Malaysia grow, engage with the community and #TransfromTogether.
